Just like Emily St. Aubert in Radcliffe’s Mysteries of Udolpho, Austen’s Catherine Morland escapes peril and gets her happy ending! This is why I chose “Catherine Morland” as my nom-de-pinup - like me, she’s full of light and yet drawn to the dark and macabre!
Which movie monster do you relate to and why?
Does Lucy Westenra in Bram Stoker’s Dracula (Coppola) count? She’s both saucy and innocent and also the best-dressed fiend in the world with her Eiko Ishioka-designed wedding-dress-turned shroud. I’d love to be as gorgeously feral and visceral as this Bloofer Lady in the vampire afterlife.
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
I'd love for it to go straight into more spooky art - photo shoots with my favorite photographers, Marilee Caruso and Miss Missy (they took all the photos I've included here), and all that’s required to style them! (Although, let's be real, it'll likely go to paying the taxes on the prize...SCARY!).
