Dezarae Ritchie

My mom had Edgar Allan Poe read to her while she was in labor with me. Now I write dark/horror poetry and am a horror fanatic.

What draws you to the darkness?

I love the mystery and beauty of the darkness and also the thrill of being scared by the unknown is something that never gets old.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I’ve watched beyond my fair share of horror movies and I’ve learned to -mind your own business (don’t go to investigate strange noises) -trust literally no one -stay quiet -keep your back to the wall so no one can sneak up behind you -a baseball bat (in my opinion) and stealth are the best weapons. -

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

Get out of debt as any millennial lol and go to some concerts, hopefully My Chemical Romance will tour again, fingers crossed! I’d also love to go to Seattle as I’m a HUGE Nirvana/Kurt Cobain fan.
