Drew Hendriks

I've been hooked on this genre since I innocently wandered into the absolutely-off-limits horror section at Jumbo Video when I was six.

What draws you to the darkness?

My parents went a little nuts with their VCR in the early 90's and recorded a whole month of movies on TV, including Ghostbusters II. Ma pulled the old electronic babysitter routine and put it on after school one day, and, well, that was it for me. I was a hooked. ILM’s practical in-camera special effects and those jump scares (severed heads on stakes, really?). My very own horror movie gateway drug. I’ve been chasing that high ever since.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

Definitely WOULD NOT run upstairs… Fight or flight? I think I can handle both.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

My first car was a 1979 Chevy Van 20 Conversion named “Beth” (think shag carpeting with a 8-Track stereo and CB radio)… Kind of like Bobby Davis’ in Freddy vs Jason. Imagine doing your drivers test(s) in that thing! I lost her a few years back and would love to get my hands on another one.
