What draws you to the darkness?
How do we define horror? Is it fear of the unknown like in The Color Out of Space? Is it betrayal from a person who is supposed to love us, like in The Shining? Learned helplessness, or the impossibility of a better life as seen in Tender is the Flesh? I think horror means many things to different people. As an avid horror fiction reader, what has drawn me to the darkness is the exploration of those fears, and how in bringing them to life, we can confront them, and become stronger people for it.
Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.
I have ADHD. It’s a superpower, and my endless novelty-seeking has had me pursuing archery classes, martial arts, and now most recently, Kendo. I like to call the mosaic of defense classes “Final-Girl Training.” I’m hoping that the skills I’ve acquired and will continue to acquire at least increase my chances of survival to some degree!
What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?
Honestly, I’ve been thinking of going back to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Library Science. The very unlucky 13k would go towards that tuition.
