Michelle Tillery

I should be the Face of Horror, because I love horror movies, true crime, and all things macabre (including an alternative style).

What draws you to the darkness?

Oftentimes my childhood felt like the work of nightmares, familial troubles let me to being drawn to the dark and macabre side of life. As a child my favorite movies were Coraline, Beetlejuice, and Girl vs. Monster, my fascination with the Supernatural goes way back.

Tell us why you would make it to the end of a horror movie.

I would make it to the end of a horror movie because I am certifiable final girl material. Additionally, I have taken inspiration from the greats like Sidney Prescott from “Scream,” Sally Hardesty from “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” and Emerald Haywood from Jordan Peele’s “Nope.” The third played by KeKe Palmer is definitely a major source of inspiration as she is a Black final girl and historically in the genre of horror, Black people have either been excluded or one of the first to die.

What would you do with the unlucky $13,000?

I would put a portion of the unlucky $13,000 in a Roth IRA account so that I can earn compounding interest. I would also plan the vacation of a lifetime for myself to go to Universal studio (something I’ve wanted to do forever) and visit the Museum of Death in New Orleans. Lastly, I would spend some of the unlucky $13,000 on birthday gifts for myself (approaching very soon) and things for my loved ones.
